Explore assumed material below local ground. Imported and public logs are observations; colored grid cells are estimates.
Uses the study area selected in Areas & terrain. Load its geological data first. Turning off the polygon check allows local interpolation across mapped contacts.
Choose a depth and select Map this depth. Rebuild after panning or zooming.

Use Measure / route to place A and B, then return here. The section uses depth below each location’s ground, with a flat ground reference.
Import my drilling information
CSV, one row per lithology interval; WGS84 longitude/latitude. Set depth_unit to ft or m. Maximum 5,000 intervals / 2 MB per import. Convert PDFs, scanned logs and spreadsheets to this template first; review the original descriptions.
Optional material column: sand, gravel, sand_and_gravel, fines, rock, mixed_or_cemented, unclassified. Without it, English descriptions are classified conservatively. Optional collar elevations require vertical_datum; they are retained but this version models depth, not elevation. Imports are private to this browser workspace.
Model method & limits
Minimum 3 distinct nearby collars surrounding each sample. Up to 12 neighbors use inverse-distance-squared voting. A material needs 60% weighted agreement; this is not a calibrated probability. Missing depths, unclassified text, conflicting overlaps and unsupported locations stay unknown. Surface polygons are coarse and cannot establish buried continuity. Depth sampling can miss thin beds. This model has not been validated against withheld drilling. Use it to prioritize drilling, not to estimate reserves or product grades.
At regional scale the grid is a sparse overview. Gaps are unsampled, and unknown is not evidence of absent material. Zoom in and rebuild to inspect a property.
